Canada’s fastest moving and hardest working collective, The Souljazz Orchestra, are bringing their explosive clash of Soul, Jazz, Afro, Latin and Caribbean styles to the UK for 3 headline shows in October.
Back with one of their finest albums to date, ‘Under Burning Skies’, the band have been dusting off ‘80s vintage synthesizers and early drum machines for the first time, bringing lo fi disco, boogie and electro touches to their trademark horn arrangements and earthy analogue sound. The fruits are a-plenty and the group sound at their confident and versatile best from start to finish, showcasing their new journey into tropical, soul and jazz styles.
The band have never stopped pushing the limits, carving a signature sound, whilst adding fresh dancefloor-oriented elements to the band's heavy mix of Afro, Soul and Jazz styles.In keeping with the group's previous work, the band maintains powerful lyrics at the heart of its music, delivering some biting social commentary alongside messages of hope.
Now celebrating its 15th year, the Souljazz Orchestra continues to be an unstoppable force. The band regularly tear up venues worldwide through its punishing schedule. In fact, years of relentless touring have formed the Souljazz Orchestra's live concerts into the stuff of legends – more often than not culminating in ecstatic, sweat-soaked, cathartic affairs, mixing pulsating arrangements with eruptive improvisations.

Since The Blue Aeroplanes acquired The Fleece in May 2010 it has been rescued from eternal damnation as a "once great" and turned into "one of the best venues in the UK"
Relaxed atmosphere, a massive bar that is never more than 2 deep and an outside smoking/drinking/chatting area. Towns with huge arenas and stadiums would probably kill to have a venue like the Fleece in their midst.
There was a time when we'd have said the days of seeing a big band in such a small venue are gone but the hard work put in by the Aeroplanes coupled with the prestige that surrounds The Fleece means that those days are well and truly back.
A massive refurbishment at the start of 2013 means the venue can now claim to have "luxurious" toilets (at least in live music venue terms!)
With the demolition of the main entrance lobby and the installation of larger toilets the capacity has now increased from 330 to 450.
