Events at Acapela Studios

Acapela is a recording studio and concert venue situated in the picturesque village of Pentyrch, just outside Cardiff. A converted chapel, Acapela offers a beautiful and peaceful environment for inspiring creative minds.

The main hall, with its traditional timber flooring and high ceiling, provides a fantastic natural reverberation.

The chapel hall boasts a seating capacity of up to 180 people, including a curved balcony area surrounding the entire space - perfect for concert audiences.

NORTH SEA RADIO ORCHESTRA at Acapela Studios Sat 23 September 2017 from 6pm

Back in 2002 North Sea Radio Orchestra were born in the lanes and alleys of the City of London, playing, in dusty old churches, a kind of chamber/alternative classical/folk high-Victorian hybrid music.

LEARN TO PLAY THE UKULELE at Acapela Studios Sat 23 September 2017 to Sun 24 September 2017

Have you always wanted to play the Ukulele or any musical instrument? Then this is the weekend workshop for you. Come and join other adults and learn to play the ukulele in two 3 hour sessions - and also have some great fun!

HOLY MOLY AND THE CRACKERS at Acapela Studios Fri 6 October 2017 from 6pm

Holy Moly & The Crackers are a seven-piece ‘Gypsy Folk Rock’ band from the UK. Founders Conrad Bird, Ruth Patterson and ‘Squeezebox’ Rosie lead the band with compelling charismatic style. “They are a bunch of wild gypsy troubadours with more than a touch of magic about them” (Diva Publications)

TWO BLONDES AND A HARP at Acapela Studios Sat 7 October 2017 from 6pm

This unique, vibrant voice and harp cabaret features the vocal and comedic talents of Lowri-Ann Richards, ‘A siren of cabaret’- Broadway Baby, Edinburgh Fringe 2014, and Glenda Clwyd, a harpist whose recordings are highlighted in the BBC Radio 6 International’s top ten chart.

THE GHOST NOTES at Acapela Studios Sat 28 October 2017 from 6pm

The Ghost Notes were formed in Greece in late 2012. They play original compositions that present a modern approach to Gypsy Jazz, traditional Gypsy Jazz tunes, and Django Reinhardt pieces.

ROACHFORD at Acapela Studios Sun 29 October 2017 from 6pm

Ever since bulldozing his way onto the scene with unforgettable tracks like ‘Cuddly Toy’ and ‘Family Man’ in the late 80s, Andrew Roachford’s maverick take on music has spread far and wide. As the first artist to sign a staggering seven-album deal with Columbia Records, it heralded the beginning of something big. “Getting signed and being a black British artist gave me a sense of pride” enthuses Andrew.

THE POLICE ACADEMY - POLICE TRIBUTE at Acapela Studios Sat 4 November 2017 from 6PM

The Police Academy was formed in late 2010 by 3 hugely experienced musicians with a deep admiration and great appreciation for the music of The Police. One of the only tribute acts ever to successfully combine both studio recordings and live interpretations, the end result is a fully immersive experience worthy of both the casual listener and aficionados of the band alike.

This innovative guitarist is back out on the road performing many of his incredible songs with incredible arrangements in what promises to be an electrifying solo acoustic show. CK GOSPEL CHOIR - A CELEBRATION OF CHRISTMAS at Acapela Studios Fri 22 December 2017 from 6pm

The CK Gospel Choir are a full time professional and established force in the European gospel scene. As well as performing at venues such as the Jazz Cafe, the Pigalle Club and Handlebeurs, they have also provided backing for high profile and diverse artists such as Beverley Knight, Peter Andre, Mica Paris, Alfie Boe, Josh Groban and Marsha Ambrosius.
