Worm Disco Club present: Fumaça Preta

WORM DISCO CLUB PRESENT: FUMAÇA PRETA at Jam Jar Sat 16 March 2019 from 9pm-2am

We're very excited and super stoked to announce the return of Fumaça Preta.

The Amsterdam based psychedelic 'Fuzz' group are back with their third studio album, 'Pepas' having moved from Soundway Records to the prolific Bristol imprint, Stolen Body Records.

Those who follow us at WDC will remember we first hosted Fumaça back in 2016 at the PRSC space on Jamaica Street - our first ever live booking!

They are easily one of our favourite bands...

If The Cramps and the Dead Kennedy's visited  Beetlejuice's fair ground and rode a crazy horse Carousel all night high on acid, while Frank Zappa blasted from the ride speakers, the resulting flashbacks would give birth to Fumaca Preta.

It's not very often we will find a rock'n'roll band to host at WDC, and for this gig we will be returning to The Jam Jar Bristol (the scene of our epic The Comet is Coming gig) for a night of psychedelic Latin insanity!!!

Album blurb;

"A genre busting, gut quivering, psychotropic, metallurgic Goliath, drawing from a vast range of unknown genres such as Fê Fê Fê, Dem Bow and Merengada, crushed into their very own Tropical Psych Punk Freakout signature style. The band even indulge their collective life long love of classic Hip-Hop alongside their essential dabbling in a parallel fuzz dimension."

Providing the soundtrack for the evening we will have DJs from both Stolen Body Records and also ourselves at WDC...We will be putting the band on stage around 11pm, with DJ's then playing afterwards for as long as we can get away with!!

Big ups to Mateo Rivano in Bogota, Colombia for the poster design, as well as the Pepas LP Cover design.
