Worm Disco Club "Afro-Disco Special" w/ Arp Frique & Family

WORM DISCO CLUB "AFRO-DISCO SPECIAL" W/ ARP FRIQUE & FAMILY at Fiddlers Sat 2 February 2019 from 10:00 pm

Worm Disco Club are very excited to present our first event and live booking of 2019, a special night at one of Bristol's best venues.

We are going to transform Fiddlers to take you away from deepest winter and off to a Tropical Island setting, for an evening of dancing and positive vibrations brought to you by a superb line up of diggers and selectors, plus a guest headline band from Holland we have spent all of 2018 trying to tie down.

- Arp Frique & Family (Rush Hour/Amsterdam) -

Lifted straight out of 1979 and transported to 2018, the music of Niels Nieuborg aka Arp Frique is a completely fresh and modern
multi-cultural blend of Afro, Boogie, Disco, Synth-madness and Carribean rhythms played by super tight, energetic and smiling musicians. This carefully curated band are proper vibrant, colourful and infectiously funky people who bring life to any party.

One of only two UK dates (the other being The Jazz Cafe) we are really excited at the thought of this band in Fiddlers.

There's a clear reason why Antal at Rush Hour signed and released this music. It's because it makes you wanna dance (and sweat) !!

Hausa (MogaDisco) -

Warming up for the band we will have a guest DJ from London in the form of Caspar aka Hausa of the MogaDisco crew.

They are one of London's top nights for African and groove based music and have been making steady waves the last few years with their regular night at The Yard and at The Jazz Cafe, GIANT STEPS, & brilliant corners. They've recently had DJ slots in support of Amp Fiddler & Tony Allen, & Awesome Tapes From Africa

Check out their end of summer mix here;

- Mike Shawe (Hot Buttered Soul) B2B Admin (Slix Disco) -

Closing out the night with a 2hr set we are gonna be inviting two hugely experienced Bristol based selectors to dig out their funkiest most bongo-tastic jams and groovers.

Those of you in BS5 will already be familiar with Mike from his regular sessions at The Plough Inn. With more than 20 years of DJ experience Mike knows how to deliver the goods! Adam aka ?dmin is a DJ, Digger and Producer who's put out some seriously slick edits over the last few years whilst also holding down a residency at Slix Disco at The Love Inn and on Noods Radio.

We're looking forward to a good dance to these two on that Fiddlers soundsystem! Check out their new record of classy edits here;

You should know who we are by now ;)

Fiddlers Nightclub is a 450 capacity, family run venue in a small back street in Bedminster.

Although slightly off the beaten track, Fiddlers has an impeccable layout and exemplary sound system. Mostly standing, with a few chairs and tables, the sightlines to the stage are excellent and the well-stocked bar is easily accessed.

Fiddlers is an over 18s venue unless otherwise stated. Doors generally open at 8.30pm and although most acts end around midnight, the bar stays open till late.

Parking issues since the Resident Parking scheme are better as the council have suspended the Double yellows at the club from 8pm – 6am to allow customers to park near the venue.

N.B. Like most venues, The Fiddlers operates a 'Challenge 25' policy. If you are lucky enough to look Under 25, BRING ID as Entry will be refused and you are not necessarily entitled to a refund
