LEE BAINS III & THE GLORY FIRES at The Tunnels Wed 22 August 2018 from 07:30 pm

Proud members of the hard rocking, tell it like it is school of Southern rock, inveterate rule breakers Lee Bains III and the Glory Fires new double LP Youth Detention spans 17 songs and is the band’s most ambitious work to date -- a sprawling and visceral record given to both deep introspection and high-volume spiritual uplift. Their music draws deeply from punk, soul, power pop, country, and gospel and their shows have earned them the reputation of being one of the best live acts you are likely to see.

Not for the faint hearted or sensitive of hearing, but an unmissable event for lovers of passionate and honest rock and roll.

The Tunnels opened its doors in late 2009 offering an independent venue for live music events. Handily located just next to the Temple Mead’s train station it plays host to some legendary artists as well as promoting new acts. It also puts on a lot of tribute acts. As the name suggests the main hall is a long tunnel shaped room with a capacity of just over 350 people. The listings are extensive and it normally showcases around 2-3 gigs a week so have a look through, see what takes your fancy.
