The Flux Capacitors - Album Launch

THE FLUX CAPACITORS - ALBUM LAUNCH at The Exchange Sat 3 February 2018 from 07:30 pm

We are delighted to announce the impending release of our debut album... COURTESAN

After 3 years of gigging in Illegal Berlin dungeons, playing sold out gigs with the likes of Jah Wobble, The Lovely Eggs, The Blockheads, and Half Man Half Biscuit, a gig above a cloud in the Sierra Nevada, and storming Portugal’s Freekuency festival, we have somehow managed to complete our first album. Join us for the launch party at Bristol's finest, The Exchange, with very special guests Rita Lynch and Drunken Butterfly!

”The Flux Capacitors have pretty much torn pages out of the rule book, rolled them up and smoked them....what did we learn tonight as we leave sonically battered and lyrically bruised after our warped encounter? If anything that you can escape convention, be lyrically subversive underneath an avalanche of melodic noise, samples and hooks… you can also have a good time doing it"
- Egigs

"Adrenaline fuelled action, piercing guitar lines, hard pounding drums and roaring riffs, [debut single] Melt packs one hell of a wallop bulldozing anything that stands in its way..”
- Tap The Feed

"That was astonishing, can we be in your band?"
- Nigel Blackwell (Half Man Half Biscuit)

The Flux Capacitors are::
Critically acclaimed guitarist singer songwriter and ex Blue Aeroplane Hazel Winter
“...slinky, schizoid, off-kilter groove…jagged, edgy, rare and brilliant…” - Guitar Magazine
“…doomed romantic masterpiece…but best of all is Hazel’s provincial non-singing Northern voice picking at death/love metaphors like scabs that won’t be left alone…” - KERRANG

Bedminster's golden boy, (Cmdr) Michael McNeil
"...quick stop in bristol for a beer, showers etc, when a young lad Michael McNeil sits down and effortlessly bangs this out. In awe? in heaven! He should join a band" | "...When that absolutely amazing guitarist, whoever he was, got in the freak zone, bloody hellfire..." | "No-one plays guitar like you pal" - Internet comments, 2016-2017
"...a competent, capable, and smart young man" - Sarah Mellor, HR Manager, Windmill Hill City Farm

Joined by the king of the drums, Max "The Monster" Harrison

Rita Lynch - "A legend on the Bristol scene, Rita's songs are an explosion of sexual, religious and social imagery driven by an energy that comes across just as strongly in an acoustic set as when Rita performs with a band."

Drunken Butterfly - "Political girl punk from Bristol, UK. Inspired by the likes of Bikini Kill, Babes in Toyland and PJ Harvey they combine snarly fuzzy punk rock with folk tinged melodies. Expect to hear songs on street harassment, Brexit, socialism, and tory austerity."
Notes: 16+ Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult
Tickets: £5.50
