KANE STRANG at Grain Barge Wed 15 November 2017 from 8pm

Swimming in equal parts melody / meloncholia, New Zealand native Kane Strang's newest long player 'Two Hearts and No Brain' showcases his chugging guitar pop sensibilities in rich fidelity. Finding a worldwide home in Dead Oceans (Slowdive, Destroyer), “Strang has a gift for pulling diamonds from the rough”, said a recent Pitchfork review, “his songs have a way of making modest acts seem heroic.”

In a lovely harbourside location in Hotwells, this historic converted barge is bursting with character. Within sight of the SS Great Britain, it's the perfect place to relax and watch the world go by. The Grain Barge started life as an engineless barge that used to be towed across the Severn Estuary from Bristol to Cardiff with its cargoes of barley & wheat. Built in 1936 by the Charles Hill shipyard.

The Grain Barge has two bars. The main harbourside lounge and dining area is light & airy, with the upper 'al fresco' deck boasting a 270 degree view of the harbour. The "Hold Bar" function room provides a venue for Live Music.
