Worm Disco Club present; The Heliocentrics

WORM DISCO CLUB PRESENT; THE HELIOCENTRICS at Kuumba Sat 11 November 2017 from 9pm

We're gonna melt your brains into your sneakers as we bring you the baddest musical sorcerers this side of Fantasia.

Worm Disco Club present to you a full AV 90 minute show with; THE HELIOCENTRICS !

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's difficult to know where to start here, nine albums in ten years, both solo and collab (Mulatu Astake, Orlando Julius, Melvin Van Peebles, Lloyd Miller) covering Jazz, Movie Soundtracks, smokey 70's style Funk, Afrobeat etc.

With superb versatility through mad musicality and a strong pinch of psychedelic properties added for flavour, The Heliocentrics create a musical soup more akin to a Witches Bitches Brew.

Since their debut on Stones Throw, through the fantastic collaboration records on Strut Records, and the two releases this year on Soundway Records, it's all next level heads-y grooves that very few eight piece psych/funk/jazz bands can touch.

As an 8 piece with a hugely varied array of instruments and sounds on show, The Heliocentrics shift space and time through their collective musical third eye - and we dig that!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Heliocentrics will be touring/performing with Barbora Patkova, singer from the 2017 Soundway Records release "A World of Masks."

This is the first time they've toured & recorded properly with a female vocalist, opening up the music to new depths - certainly a little bit of classic Portishead in the musical atmosphere created here.
